Jürgen Below

Jürgen Below has degrees in both business and psychology. After graduating from his second study course at the Free University of Berlin he joined the Berlin office of the Kienbaum Group in 1985 and worked there for ten years as Senior Consultant specialising in the Berlin consultancy market. In 1996 he took over the management of Kienbaum Berlin GmbH and had responsibility for the offices in Berlin, Dresden, Rostock and later Erfurt. In 1998 he set up the business in Poland, established it and managed the office in Warsaw. In 1999 he developed the new business area of “Newplacement” which he also managed throughout Germany.

At the end of 2012 Jürgen Below left the Kienbaum Group and at the beginning of 2013 founded Below Tippmann & Compagnie Personalberatung GmbH together with his partner and colleague, Michael Tippmann, where he plays an active role as Managing Director and Partner. He provides advice to companies of all sizes in their search and selection of specialists and executives. His broad range of human resources skills is rounded off by Newplacement, management audits and potential analyses. His specific sector expertise is in financial services/real estate, services/professional services, media and general industry. The specialist areas he covers are personnel, finance/controlling, legal professionals and IT Management.

Berlin Partner

Michael Tippmann

Michael Tippmann studied agriculture and business management at the Technical University of Munich, the University of Lyon and the Free University of Berlin. In 1980 he completed his studies as a graduate in business administration. During his time at university he was also a successful businessman in Berlin with a trading company for industrial supplies and raw materials. After completing his studies he worked as an Academic Assistant for the German Employers’ Associations (BDA) in Cologne and four years later moved to Bayer AG as Head of the “Management of Core Personnel Issues” section and as Assistant to the Personnel Director.

From 1987 to 2013 Michael Tippmann worked for Kienbaum Personnel Consultancy, initially as a Senior Consultant. In 1996 he was appointed as Partner and in 1997 as a Member of the Executive Board of Kienbaum Berlin GmbH.

At the beginning of 2013 he co-founded, together with his partner of many years Jürgen Below, Below Tippmann & Compagnie Personalberatung GmbH and plays an active role as Managing Director and Partner. He recruits people for management and specialist positions with a focus on the public, trade association, private and public energy and utility company sectors as well as the automotive and manufacturing industries. Specialist areas covered are technology, research & development, industry 4.0, sales & marketing and communication.

Michael Tippmann is an active member of Berlin Partner, the business development and location marketing agency of Berlin. He has been the moderator for over ten years of the “Businessman’s Round Table” discussion forum of the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper and is a much called-for speaker on practical issues in the personnel sector.

Simone Pfister

Simone Pfister has an M.A. in political sciences at the University of Augsburg. After completing her studies she was responsible for the Personnel Development department in one of the leading German medical publishing houses (today Reed Elsevier) and later had responsibility for the development and sale of seminars in the institute for further education of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group. In 2004 she moved into personnel consultancy – initially at the Berlin office of the US-American consultants, Heidrick & Struggles Executive Search. From 2005 to June 2013 she was at Kienbaum Executive Consultants, firstly as a Consultant, later as a Senior Consultant and most recently as a Principal.

Simone Pfister has more than 19 years of experience in HR issues and joined the founding team of Below Tippmann & Compagnie Personalberatung GmbH in July 2013 as Managing Partner. She has had many years of experience both in the recruitment and Newplacement sectors. Her range of human resources skills is rounded off by career coaching and business coaching.

Within the recruitment area she advises German domestic and international customers of all sizes on the filling of executive and specialist positions in all company areas. Her specific industry expertise in this work is in life sciences, chemicals and research organisations on whose behalf she recruits within domestic and global candidate networks (R&D, production, sales & marketing and commercial areas). Additionally, she works for retail, the public sector and industries with innovative engineering processes. In the Newplacement sector she works for companies across all sectors with a placement ratio since 2006 of almost 100 %. Ms Pfister is involved in the Association of Economic Discussion in Berlin, Healthcare City Berlin and the HR circle of “Berlin Partner GmbH”.

Georg Misgeld

After graduating in business administration at the Free University of Berlin, Georg Misgeld began his business career as a consultant at Kienbaum Berlin GmbH in 2007.
Here he managed recruitment projects for executives and skilled personnel. Georg Misgeld also developed and implemented HR-associated topics such as remuneration issues, site analyses and outsourcing of HR tasks.

In 2011 he moved to a leading, international IT and management consultancy. As a manager he was especially in the context of the “digital transformation” responsible for the development and the implementation of complex strategy projects; also in relation to HR issues after re-organisations and post-merger integration situations.
Since September 2016 Georg Misgeld has been working at Below Tippmann & Compagnie Personalberatung GmbH (personnel consultancy) as Managing Partner. He applies his many years of experience in the search and selection of executives and skilled personnel as well as his expertise as project manager in the analysis, conception and implementation of organisational and strategic issues.
His sector focus has been on energy supply companies, telecommunications companies, production industries, portfolio companies, automotive industries, public services, media and service providers.

The specialist functional areas which he covers are IT & Project Management (focus digitization), Sales & Marketing, Engineering and Finance & Accounting.
Georg Misgeld has gained knowledge of corporate groups, medium-sized companies and start-ups from his extensive project work.

Barbara Schmid

Barbara Schmid is a qualified tax consultant and graduate economist. She studied at the FU Berlin, the Private University of Witten/Herdecke and the University of Economics in Prague (Vysoká škola ekonomická).

After graduating in 2004 she began work at the energy company, RWE, in the Strategy department of its Czech subsidiary company, TRANSGAS. After this, she worked on behalf of RWE in the General Secretariat of the International Gas Union in Copenhagen and Oslo as Senior Advisor to the General Secretary. She then held various positions in Germany: In the Industrial Service division of BILFINGER as Personal Advisor to the Chairman of the Management Board and at both

BAYERNGAS and the machine-tool manufacturer, MAG IAS, where she took on tasks in the business development area.

She began work in personnel consultancy at a small “personnel consultancy boutique” for which she set up their “Munich office”. Since 2017 she has been working as Senior Advisor for Below Tippmann & Compagnie from its Munich location.

She advises German domestic and international customers of all sizes on the filling of executive and specialist positions in all company areas. Her focus is on the following sectors: mechanical engineering, the automotive parts supply industry, industrial services and the energy industry.

Dirk Schneemann

Dirk Schneemann studied business science in Berlin with a focus on France. After his studies he moved to Paris in 1987 as a Trade Attaché and in 1990 joined the French IT company, Bull S.A., where his work included responsibility for M&A projects in eastern Germany. In 1995 he moved to Berlin to work for the French oil company, Elf Aquitaine, and for a period of many years he worked in what later became the Total organisation in various executive positions – until 2011 as Director of Personnel, Purchasing and Real Estate. During this time he was involved in various associations and bodies, including the German North-East Chemicals Employers’ Association.

In 2012 Dirk Schneemann left Total and contributed his many years of experience in the areas of personnel, oil and Franco-German collaboration to work as a Business Consultant in varied German domestic and international projects and networks and, together with partners, he also founded the organisation, Euraccess GmbH, for the promotion of European business contacts in which he is Managing Partner.

As Senior Executive Advisor he is able to contribute his many years of operative experience in the Personnel sector to the cooperation with Below Tippmann & Compagnie.

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Staupe

Professor Staupe is a fully qualified lawyer with a doctorate and he also has a degree in political science. After having successfully passed the second State Bar Exam in 1978, he successfully started his career in German governmental department work. After holding positions such as Scientific Director at the Federal Environmental Agency, head of various departments at the Saxonian Ministry of Justice as well as the Ministry for Development and the Environment, he was appointed in 2004 as State Secretary at the State Ministry of the Interior, where he was at the same time Head of Department under Minister Thomas de Maizière. In 2007 he was appointed as State Secretary at the State Ministry for Environment and Agriculture. Professor Staupe worked in the same position at the State Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Sports from 2009 to 2012.

Professor Staupe is honorary professor of political sciences at the Technical University of Dresden and member of the university council of the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK). He is also familiar with the work as a member of the supervisory board and board of directors in public institutions.

Due to his numerous leading positions in the public service he knows operative personnel work very well and is not only very familiar with structures and processes and also with the way of thinking in and the “sensitive nature” of public administration work, and also with the relevant civil service law, salary law, career law, pension and labour law.

Ulrich Misgeld

Ulrich Misgeld is a qualified banker and business economist. In 1967 he started his apprentice training at Deutsche Bank, studied parallel to his work and worked, until he left the company in 1992, for Deutsche Bank in corporate banking, most recently as manager for Berlin and Brandenburg branch. In 1992 he became a member of the board of directors of the Berliner Volksbank.

At the beginning of 2000 Ulrich Misgeld left the banking world and was appointed as a member of the board for Finances, IT and HR at Selux AG, a leading company of the lighting industry with plants in Germany, France and the USA.

After 15 years in this position and various voluntary activities in industrial associations and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) he went into planned retirement at the age of 65 in September 2015. Today he currently has Executive Board responsibilities in charities and takes on supervisory board work. Since October 2015 he has been council member at the Below Tippmann&Compagnie Personalberatung GmbH. Mr Misgeld is an enthusiastic marathon runner and has successfully participated in over 46 runs.

Sofie Koss

Sofie Koss is a qualified assistant for marketing communications and a sociologist who specialises in organisational sociology in which she has a B.A. As part of her Master’s studies she obtained a dual degree at the Otto von Guericke University in international vocational education (M.Sc.) and in education (M.A.) at the Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge / Chelmsford).

During her studies, Sofie Koss was concerned in particular with concepts for organisational and personnel development and for the management of international vocational training, with methods for operational, vocational training and with vocational further education. Parallel to her studies, she worked on a continuous basis at various companies in the personnel area, including at one of the largest publishing houses in Europe and at an internationally active online travel platform.

Sofie Koss has practical experience in the areas of talent management, active sourcing and personnel marketing. She has most recently carried out the demand analysis, conceptual work and planning for a modern personnel development campaign at an energy company.

Since 2015 Sofie Koss has been supporting the team of Below Tippmann & Compagnie Personalberatung GmbH as a researcher and project assistant. She is actively involved in work on recruitment and new placement projects and focuses primarily on information management tasks for candidates and customers.
